Butte Drama - Theatre Arts

Butte College’s Drama program strives to offer as many opportunities for students to study and experience the theatre arts as possible. The program is dedicated to providing a high-quality education with safe and supportive center for artistic development. The diverse curriculum emphasized the discipline of teamwork and prepares students for academic and professional transfer.

Mission Statement:

Butte College Drama Department establishes, enriches and supports a student-centered, community-based learning environment by offering collegiate-level courses, and engaging community events, designed to focus on music, and theatre as a dynamic medium of human expression.

Performance Opportunities:

One of the advantages for Drama students at Butte Community College is the many opportunities for a live audience. We believe live performance is an essential part of the undergraduate educational experience. Therefore, we provide the following performance situations:

• Full-length plays
• Musicals
• Staged Readings

We have two excellent performance venues:

• State-of-the-art black box theatre
• Outdoor amphitheatre
